About Us
In 2025, Capital Genetics was established in the Canberra region (Australia) to meet the growing demand for genetic storage.
Strategically located between Melbourne and Sydney, Capital Genetics provides farmers and animal breeders with a secure genetic storage solution for frozen semen and embryos.
Collaborating with other facilities and veterinary clinics in Vic., NSW and Qld, Capital Genetics completes the east coast network for the movement of reproductive material between facilities, providing a cost-effective solution for owners and clients.
Complementing our storage and distribution capability, we also offer semen and embryo sales on behalf of owners, as well as artificial insemination services (bovine).
Recognising the devastating impacts recent widespread natural disasters have had on Australian agriculture, the equine industry and wildlife, the need to preserve genetic material and diversity has never been so important.
Banking genetics not only provides peace of mind in times of crisis and recovery but enables owners to rapidly re-establish their holdings in a financially viable manner.
Capital Genetics is also committed to the genetic preservation of our unique fauna and through our Australian Reproductive Conservation Program (ARCPro) we aim to encourage institutions, zoos, parks and agencies to bank cells and gametes to safeguard against inbreeding depression and the risk of extinction. To learn more about the ARCPro mission or to get involved, please contact us.
Whether you are looking to collect, preserve and/or sell your genetics, our qualified staff are available to guide you through the process.

Did You Know?
In 2019, it is estimated 664,000 cattle and 48,000 sheep died in the Qld floods, representing an estimated economic cost of nearly $2 billion (AUD).
In 2025, the same region was flooded again and a further 105,348 livestock is thought to have died.
Restocking is costly and more so, if you haven’t banked their genetics.
